In fish, an unstable brain may be a key to efficiency

Le Monde has published an article today featuring a recent study by the Calcium Imaging and Behavior team on zebrafish and Danionella cerebrum. The researchers discovered a dynamic instability in the regulation of swimming speed in Danionella cerebrum, revealing the mechanism underlying the emergence of intermittent swimming during development.
