In our wonderfully interdisciplinary lab, we might not always grasp the full breath of shared knowledge. What is trivial, or second nature, to some might be extraordinarily complex, or just unknown, to others. In this new iteration of the internal seminars, we will try to remedy this by sharing basic knowledge on our core topics of interest from molecular biology to markov chains while showing how these basic facts enable us to go beyond in our daily research endeavors. Within a few rounds we hope to build a sturdy cross-disciplinary ever-evolving shared corpus of knowledge that will act as a lab-wide foundation and springboard for discussion for the years to come. I will start with biochemistry and molecular biology.
